One of the requirements for middle schoolers in our district is to complete nine hours of community service per year. To kick it off, we participated in Redwood City's Fall Cleanup. We met a group of volunteers at the Public Works building, grabbed grabbers, gloves and bags, and headed out into the streets of Redwood City to put garbage back in its place. I realize that picking up trash isn't the most exciting activity for a 6th grader, but I also realize that learning to contribute to your community and the environment is a lesson worth learning. Nice work RWC!
