About Me

After launching an app for kids in 2009, I helped foster a community of mobile app developers called Moms With Apps. Hundreds of developers from all over the world connected over forums and services that sprouted from this community, such as the Developer Exchange, App Friday, and Know What's Inside. Today you can find me writing on blogs and social media (@LorraineAkemann) to actively support kids, families and the thoughtful use of technology. 

As a mom of two girls living in the Bay Area, I took up blogging in 2009 while building My Busy Kit (travel activities for kids). I keep this blog as a personal archive. Although I have no trouble finding projects to keep me busy, my family is the main reason I keep smiling. I'm fortunate to be able to stay home with my kids, pick them up from school, and tuck them into bed each night.
