We spent the weekend after Christmas on the central California coast at Avila Beach. It's a fantastic family destination, especially the Lighthouse Suites in the center of town. The cousins played the whole time between crafting in the rooms, swimming at the pool, swinging and tromping on the beach, and selling their rainbow loom bracelets at the park. We did not have to get in the car to take anyone anywhere. Everything was walking distance. Family-friendly restaurants included Mission Pizza and Taco Shack. Highly recommended location for family gatherings.
