It's the stuff tourist towns are made of - esoteric shops with lots of eye candy. With an hour to spend after a day of skiing, Mike suggested wandering around downtown Truckee. We reluctantly agreed to go for a stroll, exhausted from the day, but more exhausted from the thought of heading straight into I-80 traffic. When I spied the glass store I immediately envisioned my two blond bulls causing havoc in this china shop. My nerves subsided after I tied their hands behind their backs (kidding) - after they were so entertained by just looking that I realized I didn't have much to fear. So take note, curators of the next great children's museum, to include lots of light, colors and sparkly things. And thank you glass shop in Truckee for the diversion, it was certainly a delight.

There's a glass shop near our neighborhood that always intrigues me. Half of it is also a workshop where you can do your own glass work. I've got to try that!
Amazing glasswork! I can see why you were worried... glass and children don't go hand in hand, but with fascinating pieces like those I am not surprised they were entertained just by looking at them!
Who said fragile and kids don't mix? Agree, that store is pretty cool.
I'd love to visit this place it looks colourful, and fragile.
I always get so nervous taking my kids in places like this but they always make it out without me having to flash my sad checkbook!
Great find. Would never have dared stop there, you brave soul. Very beautiful, and the pics capture them well.
