Nicaragua: Finding Friends Our Own Age
Two years ago, over Thanksgiving, we took a trip to Nicaragua. We decided to visit our family friends to find out about their exciting projects. When we were there, we made some new friends. We shared our toys. They shared their beach. We saw their house. They ate our PB&Js. To Tim, Sebastian, and all of our friends in San Juan del Sur - we miss riding in the back of your pickup truck and hope to ride some bumpy roads again soon!

Love it! Especially the shot of all the kids in the water - we all share the same sea!
A great trip meeting old friends and making new ones in the process.
what fun! i love it when kids play together, from wherever they come...
I love these photos and the experience of kids from very different places connecting and playing together. That one of the very special benefits of international travel with kids ...
Awesome photos - and so great to see your kids just slipping right in and playing with their new friends.
I'm with Amie: this is why we all should travel - especially to places which are radically different from home.
Those pictures right there are the perfect example of what makes traveling so grea.
Thanks for these great comments, and hats off to all the folks that head out into the world. There is another side to this story that I will blog about in a future post describing more of the challenges of this trip. However, I wanted to kick off this series on a high-note, and indeed there were so many. Happy Photo Friday! I'll be getting my blog reading on soon!
Looks like a great trip with great friends!
What an amazing adventure. Look forward to hearing more.
Great pictures and story. It's so nice to see how easily kids can connect without language barrier.
Oooh, now I want to hear about the rest of the story. These are great photos.
I look forward to reading the rest of the adventure. I really loved the pictures of your little ones playing in the water with their new friends!
There is nothing sweeter than seeing kids from different backgrounds playing together, children connect very easily. I like the photo of the kids in the water and I look forward to hearing more from your trip!
