Face to Face

I wonder how much time we spend behind our computers. Today, I decided to spend less time in front of my computer, and more time focused on the social part of networking. I finally got to meet my travel blogger pen pal! Since January I've been reading (and learning from) Kids Go West, a travel blog for California-based excursions. On nearly every post, I'd pipe up, "Hey, I've done that" or "Hey, I want to go too" or "Hey, better you than me" or something to that effect. And then Carolina (Headmaster of Kidsgowest) would pipe up in solidarity with similar banter until we started bantering on a regular basis. This is a photo of Carolina (holding the white paper) with our combined three kids. We are at the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, watching and learning about the rescue efforts of seals and sea lions.

Here are the kids climbing around the Bay Area Discovery Museum Playground. Isn't it amazing - they make friends within seconds - no technology necessary!

I'm dedicating this Photo Friday to Carolina and Diego, our two new pals. The kids are already asking for a repeat!

The playground area looks so cool. Do they allow adult to climb up there? :)

As I said on Carolina's blog, I noted to my hubs the other day that I wish we didn't live in such a small spot because I would love to meet up with some of my "blogger buddies"...which he just rolled his eyes...he just doesn't understand! It looks like you guys had lots of fun!

I envy your Marin Adventures. Am heading up that way next week, but will be doing Traintown in Sonoma instead.

I'll have to get back to the Bay Area Discovery Museum, though. I worked there as a volunteer when it was just a storefront museum.

Thank you so much for the Busy Kits. They were awesome!!! Most peaceful roadtrip of my life and it just keeps on going!

Hey everyone - we'll need to make a plan for all of the crew to get together at some point. It was on our mind as we spied a great lodge up there. Amy, as for the playground structure, apparently there are no grown ups allowed, at least that's what my daughter reported when I tried to climb up!

How fun that you got to hang out with Carolina. I read her blog and get homesick for my bay area days.

Too much time on the computer leaves less time to spend with your friends, family even yourself. It's addictive more than coffee and chocolates and that is bad. Good to see you made it outside.

Meeting folks face-to-face definitely gives your online interactions a whole new dimension, too.
We've got a great group of Twitter folks here in the Detroit area, and quite a few informal gets. Fun!

I love this Photo Friday twin-pictures-thing. So we had a great time and Diego is excited to get together again-so he can talk your head off again, I suppose.:)

I LOVE IT! Two of my favorite blogger people meeting and hanging out!

And you are so right about children just making friends so easily. I usually give my children and their new friends common toys, and BOOM! They have an immediate connection.
