Lasting Impressions

I'm crediting this post to Delicious Baby's Photo Friday, a great way to share photos with other happy travelers.

Do you ever fall into the digital camera trap of having thousands of photos on your hard drive, but nothing on your walls? A lot of time and resources can go into a family vacation, too much to let it all disappear into my archaic memory. Taking action, I sifted through my favorite pictures and enlarged a variety of them at Costco. On the way back home, I stopped by Michael's Craft Store and picked up frames and maps. Once the kids were tucked in bed, I had a few hours to sort through the photos and create my gallery. What a fun project! Now, when I walk through the house, I can remember those trips on a daily basis. Here are some of my favorites:

Abel Tasman National Park, New Zealand

Glacier Bay, Alaska

San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua

As the kids get older, these trips become easier. Happy travels everyone and have a great weekend!

Beautiful photos. I have a stack ready to frame as well...this might be motivation to get it done this weekend!

What great shots! We have a travel - photo wall too (running up the stairs) and the kids love to stop and ask us questions about each of the different shots.

Great photos, so I'm wondering what they look liked frame, and what you did with the maps. I am very crafts-handicapped, and could use the suggestions. So it was my winter project to sort through my photo HUGE photo boxes, and I only got one done. Going to get back to it. Found a great photo organizer at Costco.

I've yet to print my pictures...and I've got tons of prints I took before I had digital cameras that I've failed to scan!

You're way more organized than I am!

Loved the glacier shot. I reminded me of our trip to Alaska and a small boat cruise where we got quite close to the glaciers.

Of course, COSTCO!! I have always wanted to enlarge my personal photos for home use, but I never really liked the options I was presented with. It also doesn't help that I didn't have a digital camera until now. Thanks for the suggestion.
