This weekend we joined friends at the Dickens Fair, a Victorian Christmas Celebration. We did not know what to expect, but any expectations we may have had were overcome with awe upon entering the venue. The halls were recreated as London streets and storefronts, and most people dressed in Victorian costumes, speaking with vivacious and contagious accents. All five of us (four kids and myself) were soon chatting about cups of tea and fancy dresses. Activities for kids included dancing, theater, eateries, ornament paining, and fairy-house making. Next year, we are going in costume. In fact, the plans have already been drawn up!
