Donner Lake

We did more in two days at Donner Lake and surrounding areas of Lake Tahoe than I ever thought possible. Five girls ranging from ages 4 to 7 had a blast with flotillas, kayaks, paddleboards, riverbeds, bike paths, scooters and playdoh. I continue to learn from my good friend and business partner (fellow mom on this trip), that life is meant to be lived. Interesting how the children already seem to 'get' that.

We are participating in Trekaroo's Spotlight Thursday, which is focused on Lake Tahoe's "other" lakes. Great coincidence! Check it out for more ideas around Lake Tahoe.

Sounds like a wonderful trip. Sometimes kids have great lessons to teach, huh?!

What great pictures. The first one is so pretty! I love to travel with my children because I am constantly reminded of the same thing every time we take a trip together.

I love Donner Lake so much in the summer. We swim in the lake, go hiking, play tennis, wade in the creek, and eat lots of ice cream. So sad that summer is almost over.

We were at Donner at the end of July. LOVE Donner. Speaking of Lake Tahoe...have you ever visited the Ehrman Mansion at Sugar Pine Point? Here's the link: http://www.tahoecountry.com/oldtimetahoe/ehrman.html
And here are pix of us jumping off the dock there:http://penandview.blogspot.com/2010/08/jump.html

I heard so much of this excellent place but I never get the chance to visit it yet. Seeing this blog made me convinced that this is great for summer vacation. I guess I'll see you next summer Donner Lake.
