Tobogganing With Kids

If you can get the right setting (winter cabin), the right horsepower (strong & motivated friend), and the right velocity (hill full of snow), the outcome can be cheerful for all involved. These girls skied for an entire day, and then came back to the cabin for tobogganing and snowman building. We had to drag them in when the activity veered towards roofs and icicles. Let's just say those pizzas from Zanos were devoured FAST.

This setting is near Truckee, California, which is a great town just before you hit Lake Tahoe. There is lots of snow this year, and lots of weekends left to enjoy.

More snow is piling up at Photo Friday - go take a look!

As soon as I saw that cabin, I thought Truckee. Is there really that much snow right now? We have to go!!! Looks so much fun.

Great pics and what fun! We are heading to Germany in a few weeks for some time in the snow and I can't wait.

I bet the right velocity is key in snow like that! Your snowman made me smile. I've only been to that area of California during the summertime, which is heavenly. Someday I'd like to see it in all the glory of winter. Thanks for sharing!

I'm so jealous of the snow right now! We have yet to get enough to cross country ski, skate, sled, or anything else here.

Great shots...thanks for sharing!
