Out of Africa

Acting on a tip from Kids Go West, our family headed to Safari West during the first weekend of spring break. This family-owned wild animal park in Northern California succeeded in transporting us to another world. A stunning setting, with clear weather and exotic animals, made for an incredible visit. Here is a sequence of the giraffe who came right up to our jeep. Ready for more? Head over to Photo Friday for other travel treasures.

Thanks for sharing this...adding this to our neverending list of things to do when visiting my in-laws in Northern California. Looks like a beautiful day and great shots of the giraffe!

I'm desperate to take the kids here - we've come close too many times to count.

It is nice to see them have a little more room to roam than they do in some zoo exhibits.
Nice shots, thanks for sharing.

Wait... a JEEP! How awesome is that?! Is that part of the normal experience, or did you have to pay extra for that? Now I want to go visit the Wild Animal Park in SD...
